BEETROOT HALWA


BEETROOT HALWA


INGREDIENTS:


Beetroot – 4 – skin peeled and grated,

Sugar – 2 cups,

Green cardamom – 2 – powdered,

Ghee – 4 tsp,

Cashews – 10 flakes,

Dry grapes – 5,

Water – ½ cup,

METHOD:

Heat a tablespoon of ghee in a thick bottomed pan and fry the cashews, to golden brown and take them aside,

Now add dry grapes and fry and take them in a plate,

Now add the grated beetroot to the same and sauté on a low flame till it leaves its rawness…

Now add ½ cup of water and green cardamoms and cook the beetroot on a low flame with lid covered,

When cooked add sugar and mix well, let the whole halwa come together with no moisture left in it.

Finally add the fried cashews and raisins and serve hot with puris or have it just like that, you can store this for a weeks time in refrigerator..
